Mauritz Maschinenbau stands for dependable solutions in industrial plant engineering. For more than a century we have combined technical know-how with a clear commitment to quality, durability and precision.
What began in 1906 with steam and vacuum pumps has grown into a capable mechanical engineering company – specialising in the planning, manufacturing, assembly and maintenance of components and systems for demanding industrial sectors.

Our history – milestones at a glance
1906
Founded by Alfred Mauritz
Manufacture of steam and vacuum pumps for the chemical, food and textile industries. Around 25 employees.
1928
The company grows
A look inside the workshop around 1928: manufacturing a vacuum pump.
With final pressures below 30 mbar, the Mauritz pumps were among the most capable industrial solutions of their time.
1933
Technical progress
Commissioning of new plant technology and structural modernisation – a sign of continuity and ambition despite economically uncertain times.
After 1945
A fresh start after the war
Maintenance and repair of steam systems throughout West Germany.
Late 1950s
Change of ownership
The new owner develops patents in the textile sector and strengthens the company's capacity for innovation.
1970s
Introduction of plastics processing
Manufacture and assembly of pipework components in PP, PE and PVC. Installation of complete systems on site.
1980s
Split into two business areas
Separation of plastics technology and mechanical engineering. Focus on maintenance and plant services for the chemical and textile industries.
1988
Peter Alsbach takes over
Peter Alsbach, with the company since 1964, becomes managing director. Expansion of maintenance services for chemical production plants.
